2002 yukon xl shock option's

Think my rear shocks are out. Lots of bounce when im towing anything. Probably original. So i believe these are the self levelling . Reading a lot about replacing springs and etc.. ac delco has a replacement shock thats not oem. Is that a viable option? What about coil spring shocks? Would they compensate for the weaker oem springs?

Any ideas???

if they are the nivomat there is no "viable" replacement unless you also replaced the springs with stiffer ones and some bilsteins that's about the best you will get.
you could add some helper bags for when towing and some hellwig sway bars will help with sway.
otherwise hunt down some nivomats, they are a bit pricey

It would be good to see a pic of one shock and if there's a label on it; there are a few different suspension systems used on the XLs.

Also, post a pic of your RPO codes that are inside the glovebox so we can see what it came with.
