What do you mean by sweating them in?

Heating the copper wire and touching solder wire to it and melting solder in to the connection.

proceed logically first.

Identify the relay for the starter and measure with a multimeter on the starter relay socket whether there is power when you try to start the ignition switch.

If there is no power, you have a problem with the immobilizer, the ignition lock, the ECM or whatever.

If there is power there but, not at the starter motor, you have a problem with the relay, the starter motor, ground points or something else.

Check that first and let us know what the result is.

I've seen those test relays with manual switches. Basically, remove the regular delay and plug the test relay, hit the switch and it should energize the circuit. Probably an overkill for a DIYer, but eliminates the switch side of the circuit very easily and fast.

Lisle makes a master relay kit, but spendy. I think Amazon may sell the knock-off versions individually.

Does anyone know the relay type on these trucks? There's only like 2 types, right?

You can simply bridge the two contacts with a not to thin wire.
