Most likely just not a give-a-shit-about-my -car type like most young people growing up today are. So many are just not into cars like my generation was. Half of today’s kids don’t even get a drivers license. Wait for another 20 years and we are going to see the repercussions of people who have no idea how to do the most basic maintenance on their vehicles. They already don’t know how to fix shit around the house but man can they bust out the video game moves.
So what you're saying is our kids should start getting ready to get into the basic maintenance business? :D

Was almost just rearended as I sat still at a stop light. I had been stopped for about a minute but was the back car in a line of maybe 10, I happened to check my rearview mirror and noticed a single headlight racing towards me. The speed limit is 45 but everyone does 60 and it showed no signs of stopping. Something old me to pull into the median and quick, luckily I did and the driver of a 1 headlight Passat swerved seemingly inches before he would have plowed my passenger side. He nearly lost control during that maneuver but saved it. I could clearly see his big bright phone in his damn hand!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe he was googling the bulb number for his burnt out headlight.
Very glad you were able to avoid that douchebag.

I completely agree with you! I've been raising my little half-sister and thankfully shes normal-ish but she has a friend that had the option of a $10k car or a $10k 16th birthday party, guess what she picked.........

Yes!

Very glad you were able to avoid that douchebag.

Me too! I've always thought about if this gets wrecked what I'll do and I will likely get a Z71 and do a SAS with a power wagon front axle and all the salvageable bits from this one. However, I really don't want to do that anytime soon.

Yep, the party nope doesn't have a car. Sees no reason to get one she doesn't have a license and has no desire to get one they graduate highschool this year.

A guy I work with has a 15 year old kid. He's teaching him to drive and he seems interested in doing so. He said like 99% of the kids he's friends with have no desire to learn. They just have their parents take them or get an uber. None of them care about cars. Hell, the little dude I trained is the only one of his friends that care about cars. He has a zl1 camaro and none of the friends even realize what it is. They just know he has a camaro. He's 21. Crazy how times have changed.

ZL1! Cheese and rice that's way too much car for a 21y/o! I bet he loves it tho. I remember being so excited to get my license and drive my $350 POS truck around. I think I've only used an uber twice and it was in other states to go get a Turo rental so I didn't have to rely on other people.

Oh no, now they’ll have a friend with a nice Camaro to drive them all around. Poor guy has no idea he’s going to become a taxi for his friends. I mean, Uber doesn’t take them everywhere they want to go.

.

He started working for us in an apprenticeship type position when he was still in high school. He bought a used altima and paid it off super quick. Sold that and wanted to buy a new ss camaro (this is back in 2019). I said shit, for that money, I'd pick up a used zl1. We looked for a bout a month and I found him a 2017 with 4k miles. He bought it. He's had it a little over 2 years.

Here's a pic I took of it when he first got it. He now has exposed carbon heat extractor and the gm carbon fiber wing...

All these stupid non driving kids are gonna eventually realize they should've gotten their license, especially when they have no one to take them where ever they want/need to go. You could get away without a license in NY tho. There are people in their 60's who've never driven a day in their lives. There are subways taxis etc there, and I hear parking a car anywhere is nearly impossible!
