Dang that sounded good! What happened to that motor?

I'm about to go pull spark plugs on mine now.
Oil pressure sensor was broken. It was pegged at 80 psi forever. Along with the cam, I had a HV Melling oil pump installed. Drove it almost every day for 2 yrs, 1 day it made a noise. Sounded like a lifter noise. Motor wasn't getting oil pumped to the top end.
Has a btr stage 3 truck cam in it. Hopefully the cam is still good.

Man that cam sounds good! Sounds much bigger than 218/224. If I ever end up pulling the heads on my Tahoe 6.0 it will end up with a bigger cam for sure! Hopefully what's in it will last until I can afford something with 400+cubes.

Not gonna keep updating race truck progress because obviously it's not a tahoeYukon. But I did borescope the cylinders and they look pretty good I think it's a head gasket failure. Will pull heads Monday.

You should post up the race truck status for sure. When it comes down to it--we're all gear heads and we all have a love of wrenching--some more then others.

Alright alright I'll break forum rules.:banplease:

Borescope down the spark plug holes and the cylinders and pistons look pretty good. Kinda impossible to see small cracks but overall they look good. My thoughts now are somehow the LS9 head gaskets have failed. New gasket will be here Wednesday the plan is to pull heads tomorrow evening and hopefully just throw the new gaskets in Wednesday night. Then let her rip tater chip.

Actually go easy on it and get a good 200 miles or so on it without anymore boost to make sure all is going well. Then hammer the thing with boost pulls and get the tune dialed to perfection.

Hopefully no damage has been done. Gonna replace the head bolts? Or did you say you have studs instead? Not gonna clean(mill) the heads up at all?

It's got ARP2000 studs. I'd really like to not have to touch the heads as they were brand new PRC 220cc CNC ported head assembled by TSP and have less than 200 miles on them. The engine has never gotten hot dont think I've even seen 200* water temps with the Mishimoto radiator 160* thermostat and brand new water pump. However if I suspect any reason to get them surfaced or repaired I will for sure!

Plus I don't really want to mill them any Its already just a smidge over 10-1 compression.
