Had to go to two different junk yards today to find Rear calipers, I didn’t realize they are such a high demand item at scrap yards. When I did finally find them at an LKQ yard, they were $40 a set!!! After tolls and gas I should have just amazoned a set, or sent the ones I have on the truck off to powder and drove the taco for a week. Only reason I didn’t do that is I hate making my powder guy set up for a complicated three stage powder for just two small pieces. At least this way I can drop them off and whenever he gets a bigger order together in that color he can do mine at the same time. I’ll leave the stock calipers on and swap pads and rotors tomorrow.
It was weird both yards had at least two rows of in the truck section empty. I wonder if scrap is at such a high demand or because parts are back logged people are hitting the yards more. I did find several sets of esky roof rack bars, but only one complete set of caps and the paint was not in great shape. If I had brought a torx bit I would have snagged a set of bars to get powdered black. Didn’t find any trucks with Efans at all but did find a GMC Sierra Denali with all wheel steer and it still had its axle which seems kinda rare to me.
