Hey folks. 2004 Tahoe Z71 with 320K on the clock.

THE FOB IS NOT THE PROBLEM... I've tried multiple new OEM fobs..

on the driver door, the lock button does not work. the unlock button does.
on the passenger door, the lock button does work. the unlock button does not.

on the fob, the lock button works, but the unlock button does.

any ideas on the issue? I've looked into a VIPER alarm system but a technician recommended not doing it unless i solve the core issue first. Do you think if i do a ECU/PCM swap that would fix it?

Thanks in advance.

sounds like time to try some door switches, the junkyard is your friend.
I would try the master switch first and see if that allows the passenger side to work properly
the switches are tied into the master, so if the master is bad the others "may" not work correctly.
pretty unlikely to be anything else unless of course the actuator is bad, "maybe" a relay. but less likely.

Thank you!
Those master switch modules are pretty pricey on eBay and they’ve all been ripped out in my local yard.
I will keep looking!

There is a nationwide salvage yard parts network that can find and ship parts to you, if they are not available locally. Did you ask your local salvage yard about it?

Try taking the switch apart. Doesn't cost anything to try. The contacts might have gotten corroded. You might luck out if you clean the up.
