TB was cleaned at the tune up at 100k...not sure what the MAF is.

Does the 2004 have a fuel filter? I've been told by independent mechanics that there wasn't a fuel filter in this model year.

@Night Fury...how much was it to replace the fuel pump?

Correction: i currently have 133k i replaced it at 130k.

I went through a local auto store (Star Auto i believe) it was around $150
-first one was defective, went it and they ordered new one free of charge. its the OEM one (ACDelco)

From everything I've read (I tend to read a lot of car mags and car tech articles) that is the case. I do believe you're right that there is a non-replaceable one on the pump in the tank but with the tanks these days there's much less chance of debris and other junk getting into the fuel lines and up to the motor.

Makes sense, I don't doubt it. Everything used to be made out of metal, now a days you don't hear people complain much about "plastic crap this and that".

Guess I need to invest in newer vehicles. All of my previous cars had one but I guess things change as time moves on.

When my idle dropped it was because of carbon build-up inside the butterfly valve. Took some carb cleaner and a rag and rubbed it where the butterfly valve meets the the inside of the throttle body. Either have someone sit inside the truck and press down on the throttle so the butterfly valve opens all the way up or use your other hand to keep it open. Rub carb cleaner on the edge of the butterfly valve and the inside of the throttle body. Be careful as the edges inside the throttle body are very sharp! I clean it every other oil change. Takes 10 minutes.

My fuel pump went out at 137k miles. I fired up my car in a parking garage and 30 seconds later it just turned off. Cranked over fine. When you put the key to the ON position you could not hear the fuel pump prime.
