The problem was a fuse missing in the side dash fuse block. The one marked VEH CHMSL 10AMP. Evidently, I had removed it during work and forgot to put it back.

Welcome from Southern California from a 2006 owner. I was just a kid when I bought mine as well…. Do a lot of work myself as well. User error is so annoying but hey happens to everyone at some point! Two summers ago I fired the parts cannon at a weird turn signal issue where my passenger side turn signal was staying partially lit. LED in the mirror partially lit and the green arrow in the cluster partially lit. Was weird. Forgot to be simple and check the wire harness going to the front turn signal bulbs. Chafed bare wire sticking through the insulation. Oops. User error for sure lol.
