Before I really get serious about pulling a new wire, I thought I'd see if any one else has encountered this.

I just bought a 2007 Denali XL, and love it. We towed our trailer from MT to FL a few weeks ago, and it was so much better than the 2003 z71 we had (just totaled.)

The only issue I'm having is that the 7pin is not charging the trailer. I checked and verified the 40A fuse, and even did an en route redneck fix by running from that stud to the trailer battery (which worked, btw).

I checked this morning, and the 7pin appears to be wired correctly and all other features work (brakes, lights, etc.)

However, I get NO continuity between the stud wire and the rear wire. That would indicate to me that there's a break in the wire, I would think, but tracing that is going to be a huge pain. I'd be more apt to just run a new wire instead.

Before I do that though, has any one else come across this, and is it possible I'm just missing something really simple? I know the stud is working, but there's no juice going from it all the way to the 7pin. The ground is good too, already verified that.

Thanks in advance!

Is there a red/black or pink wire coiled up anywhere around the front fuse center in the engine compartment? That's where they are in the newer (2011/12) suburban/tahoe trucks.

Yep, in the 07's, it's a red/black, and that's the wire that runs from to back from the stud on the front of the fuse panel to the 7pin. The stud works, but I'm not getting continuity from front to back on the wire.
