I just bought yesterday, and realized what all the buttons are for on my remote. I follow the cycle of hitting the lock button and then the start button. It cycles with lights flashing after I hit the start arrow, but nothing happens after that. I have changed the battery, tried to get the valet mode off (if there is one). Not sure what else to try. The lock and unlock works. Lift gate button works. What else can I try?

Do you have a check engine light on? The remote start won't work with a light on.

Thank you, the tire sensor light is on. Need new sensors. Would that cause it?
Not totally positive on that, but I would say so. I know for sure it won't remote start with a check engine light on.

If you just bought it and tpms light is on...did they install/rotate the tires and if so maybe the sensors just need reset. I'd get that fixed then try the remote start.

Tire sensors have been reset, and still won't turn on. I click the lock button and then the start. When I click the start all it does is unlock the driver's door. Any other suggestions?

The TPMs don't have anything to do with it. If you go through the options on the dash with the truck on, you can turn on the remote start function if it's turned off. Some people turn it off if they're afraid to accidentally remote start the truck.

It is turned on. Just to be sure, I turned it off and then back on. Is there a different "valet function"?

The situation you're having does happen to me once in a while and not sure why. Sometimes I feel like the remote start will only work if you use it after you shut it off and lock it and it sits for a bit. Sometimes I feel like it cancels it out if after I park and lock it, then come back later to unlock it and get something, then lock it again, when I try to remote start it when I go to leave it just flashes the lights.
