New to this forum, I bought my Tahoe back in March, i really been enjoying it!

So It Started Making a tick, tick noise and sounds like a lifter.
Did an oil change and kinda went away,
but know that is getting close to the next oil change its a get loud at times,
but doesn't do it all the time.

any advised, options and quotes?

I'm debating on a dod delete, or Cam Swap!

Also it has 2 speakers one on the front grill and another behind the front bumper,
has anyone hooked up there speakers to a CB Radio?

Welcome aboard Jerry and congrats on the new to you Tahoe PPV

I get a tick every so often. Some times it last longer than others but it rarely lasts for more than a couple of minutes. Haven't heard it lately, knock on wood, haha.
Most definitely look into a DOD delete and might as well do a cam while you have the DOD cam out.
Do you have someone local to do any tuning?

synthetic oil , after second oil change , no lifter noise .....

I change my oil religiously, only use Mobil1 full syn and I get a tick every so often. Doesn't last long but its there.
Its funny because I consume little to no oil, but it does tick.

How thick are you thinking?

I'd definitely get more details, that seems a bit high to me. Maybe someone can chime in with more info on how much cam swap is going for nowadays.

I might have a lifter noise on my 08 as well. also think it could be a header gasket leak too. I haven't really looked into it. As it goes away after a few minutes. When I do my oil changes I use the Lucas oil stabilizer every oil change. Since I read that these motors have lifter issues with the DOD systems.

I'm always about a AFM delete/cam job.

But I will make an assumption that this truck is your daily driver and your not wanting to dump about 4k in parts, labor and tuning.

On that note, about 250 miles before your next oil change, add 1/4 to 1/3 of can of Seaform to the oil/crankcase. This will help clean up and get an sludge back in to a liquid state. When you drain the oil it will be black AF.

I did this with my 08 LTZ with a fresh Royal Purple HMX oil change and the lifter noise was gone.

Again this was my experience
