The motor was replaced in our Yukon in December of 2011. 13 months and 11,000 miles later, I brought it back to the dealership. This time for an oil leak, an engine noise on cold start and a coolant smell.

Their diagnosis (so far):

- oil leak is from the oil pan gasket
- engine noise on cold start is from the manifold gasket (they haven't actually taken it apart yet, could be more?)
- coolant smell - unknown. Initial pressure test is fine.

Odd things I have noticed

- the coolant smell is from the front exterior of the vehicle. No noticeable coolant leaking under the hood, no real loss of fluid in the fluid levels.
- I *swear* that I am getting antifreeze in the driver's side door jamb. Repeatedly. It is wierd.
-Car does not overheat in hot weather. It warms well in cold weather. We have a lot of crazy weather in Michigan and it has been fine.

I was told by the dealership that it is common for there to be problems with the manifold gasket. My question, wouldn't that have been replaced with the new engine? Should I be having this many issues?

Thanks! Kim
