My 2009 Yukon has freshly rebuilt engine with just under 2,000 miles on the installation. Oil pressure hits 40-50 at cold start and settles into 15-20 at hot idle, running around 30-35 at speed. All what I’d call normal pressures with no abnormal noise or temps at idle or high RPM. However, the dash gauge seems to move incredibly slow when accelerating, especially when compared to my Chevy Avalanche (5.3l). Is that the nature of these gauges? Could the gauge itself be going bad? I’m looking for some way to plumb in a mechanical gauge just to be sure my pump is working properly. Any insight would be appreciated.
