My bro's 2010 yukon denali started making a loud rattling noise. the noise starts as soon as truck is turned on and will stay on as long as the truck is on/driving. It will get louder and slightly faster with acceleration. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have him check the a/c lines that run along the back fire wall and are known to rattle against the firewall and each other. Mine did this especially when I accelerated, I found some black foam and wrapped each line where they rubbed. Problem solved. The lines are located on the fire wall near the battery.

I will check that out. Also, the noise is really loud. I could hear it as he drives up the street.

Hmmm....can you post a video of the noise to better pin point it. It doesn't sound like lifters does it?

I uploaded a clip to youtube. I am new to this forum, so I don't know if that is allowed.

Yeah I'm not a mechanic but that sounds like a lifter issue to me. I would strongly advise he have a mechanic look at it ASAP. The more he drives the more damage it will do.

Yea, as I read similar cases I came across the potential lifter problem. Was hoping it wasn't that. Also, read similar cases of it being due to the exhaust manifold.

There is a metal heat shield that goes over the manifold. However, that noise is very distinct and sounds like a stuck or broken lifter.

He'll have the truck looked at tomorrow. It's unfortunate because he bought the truck used back in May. It now has a little over 60K miles. Thanks for the heads up.
