Damn, Glad to hear you fixed the issue. He's going to have it checked tomorrow morning. We will definitely keep this in mind. Thankshad that noise on my '04 Sierra 5.3. It was junk in the lifter from the oil change place never changing the damn filter - it was full of junk. I was lucky, Pulled the valve cover, rocker, push rod, shot Chemtool or gumout down into the lifter and down the pushrod (I only had one bad one but did the rest on that side too) Did a oil flush too, noise went away and never came back. There are some you-tube videos on it as well - good luck. It wasn't actually that hard at all, I'm not a master mechanic by any means, just your average joe that if I can do it to save a chunk of change, I will. I put it as about the same skill set as changing the water pump, it's harder to get all the harness clips off without breaking them than anything else
Currently in the shop. What did you find out about the noise?

sorry to tell you but these trucks are pretty big pieces of crap. In the same boat is you. GOt a 2010 denali 6.2 with cam and lifters out at 80K
why GMC can't make a 50-60 thousand dollar truck that wont last over 100k without major engine issues is beyond me.
