Hi gang.
Newby here with a new truck and likley an old problem.
I'm tryng to install a ham radio in the 2011 Tahoe and it's so crowded in the engine compartment I'm having trouble finding a way to get the power cord from the battery to the cabin. Does anyone know of any access on the passenger side of the vehicle that is already grommeted that I could use? I've found one large access just to the left of the steering wheel but it's kinda close to the fuse box and i'm trynig to avoid running any radio gear near existing vehicle wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Art

There is one in the same place on the passenger side I believe. I know there is one up there by the top of the "footrest" of the passenger's feet

under the dash ,driver side above brake pedal there a fuse pannel(remover cover an you will find a HOT term. that goes to the batt. This is where your towing hardness plugs in. NOTE: i have a 2008 tahoe - 2 ham radio's and scanner (10 ga. wire and NO PROBLEM)

Late Model Ham Radio PICs Anyone?

Hello, Chuck here in MO. Does anyone have some install Pics of their Ham Radio gear in a late model Tahoe or Yukon? Looking for ideas for a used 10 Tahoe we just got. I had my Icom 7000, Kenwood D700, VHF/UHF Maxtracs in our old 04 Suburban using a custom fitted console that worked great! No console will be going in the 10 Tahoe per the XYL so I'm looking for ideas! May re-use my motorized Diamond K9000 antenna mount for one rig. Thanks & 73, Chuck. KA0GFC

Any Pics would be great. Thinking about maybe putting the Icom 7000 control head on a flexible gooseneck arm with the bottom bolted under the driver's front seat bolt/frame. I have a similar arm mount in my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that is working well. Now thinking of bolting a short section of the side frame rail from a 19" equipment rack to the luggage rack cross rails. Align it length wise with the Tahoe and paint it black. Then put my High Sierra Sidekick at the front of it and a UHF/VHF dual bander at the rear. I had made something similar in an "H" layout and bolted it to the roof of my 04 Suburban. It worked well, but looked a bit rough. Just trying to make this one look better. Open to ideas/suggestions. 73, Chuck. KA0GFC
