Well, I imagine part of the reason behind this configuration is that a fender bender won't damage the exhaust.

And I haven't even brought myself to list her yet.

I feel cheated that they fit like that. I am glad I passed on this bumper now :secret:

Well to be fair, the problem here is that the tips are part of the bumper and not the exhaust, like they are on all the Mercs, Biiiiiiiiiimurz, Acuras, etc.. The travel of the bumper and exhaust is always somehow separate for obvious reasons. Once GM decided to attach the tips to the bumper this is the only way they could do it. The question is, why would they do that? :think:

I thought it was functional tips not just dual exhaust that exits behind the bumper and some may float out of the holes...

This is exactly right. If you weld that exhaust to those tips you're asking for a lot of problems.
