This is exactly right. If you weld that exhaust to those tips you're asking for a lot of problems.

I don't see how there would be a problem as long as the fake tips are metal and not plastic.

Because as the vehicle goes down the road the exhaust is constantly moving and flexing as you go over bumps. If you weld that exhaust up to tips that are actually ATTACHED to the bumper which is stationary you're going to tear the bumper up and eventually it'll get cracked and destroyed and I'm thinking it wouldn't take that long for it to happen.

There is plenty of cars on the road that the exhaust is close to the bumper just as that depicts. They could have made it work fairly easily but chose not to.

Yeah, but the tips are attached to the exhaust and the exhaust is bolted to the frame and independent of the bumper assy ... which is really how GM should have done it, but for some strange reason chose not to.

^^this.....If GM would have made the tips independent from the bumper assy this wouldn't be an issue.

I can't tell if it is a reflection but are the tips are independent of the bumper or attached?

They are attached to the bumper, part of the bumper assembly and not the exhaust assembly.

So much fail in one bumper. I really liked these but now think they are a waste of money.

I'm not sure why it matters that much Derek ... the end result ends up being the same, and it's certainly not visible unless one gets on the ground and looks straight into the tips. Plus like I said earlier, you can get in a minor accident and it won't push the exhaust straight into the frame or damage it in any way, you'd just replace the bumper assy just like any other Esky.

Plus it gives one the option of running any dual exhaust setup they want into those tips.
