First, this is my first post. Just picked up my 2012 Suburban yesterday after trading in a 2007 Suburban LT with ~109,000 miles.

Has anyone had any experience with installing the 2012 GM Harddrive Nav unit into a 2012 GM product with the standard radio with Bose? I have read that it is plug-n-play except the VIN and maybe the BCM has to be programmed? or does it require a special adapter harness and tapping into the VSS? I am pretty sure the rearview camera would have to be tapped into to feed the 2012 GM Harddrive. Just doing research Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Welcome to the Greystone club.

Hey ..... that looks like City Chevrolet because of the big gold building on Independence.

It is City Chevrolet. I actually snagged the photo from their new inventory website. It's still showing on the web. I assume you live near Charlotte, NC.

The harnesses are completely different for a truck without Nav from the factory. Contact Greg at CPS audio. He has a kit to make it work. Last time I checked it was around $300-$350. 707-588-9300

Been doing some research and I think I can make my own harness for ~50.00 plus add GPS antenna, USB extension (they changed the usb connector on the back of the radio too), reroute the XM antenna to the deck, and add VSS wire and camera wires to plug X4 on new deck. Anyone know where I can get the Female plugs to plug the original X1 14 pin plug and the X2 16 pin plug into? I have an idea but almost everyone wants to sell a aftermarket radio box with their harnesses.

Thanks,
