Hey guys...hoping someone can help me out. I have a 2012 Yukon, loaded with the exception of built in Nav. I do have Bluetooth. What I'm wondering is...I can easily pair my phone (iphone5) to the built-in audio system. When I get a call, BT works fine..sound comes right out of the speakers. But what puzzles me is that other audio from the phone isn't transferred through Bluetooth. Is this intentional by design?..I don't really get why I can talk and hear voices...but if I want to play music via the phone, it doesn't work. Obviously, it's easy enough to use an aux cable...or I can even use my blue bridge BT adapter, plugged into the aux jack. I just don't get why the system wouldn't support music (or any other device audio) out of the box...unless this was some kind of safety restriction. Am I the only one that thinks this is a bit strange...or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for your replies!

veniculum,

The Yukon 2012 has Bluetooth for phone connectivity to vehicle audio system. I’m sorry; streaming audio via Bluetooth is not available in this system.

Audio from external devices can be accessed via the auxiliary input jack and/or the USB port.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me.

Our gm trainer said apple keeps such tight wraps on their phone's programming "language" it is too hard to get it to work reliably through bluetooth. So you've got to plug your iphone in to the USB port in the glovebox.
