There is a 2012 YUKON XL SLT 4x4 with the options I want (sun, entertainment, & destination package) and options I don't necessarily want but don't mind (heave duty trailering package and SLT-2 package).

The dealer says he can give me a deal near invoice pricing plus 0% financing? No official number has been communicated yet, but can I do better than invoice for these closeouts.

Is below invoice plus 0% financing unheard of?

thanks

The dealer invoice includes a 3% holdback that the dealer gets back. It also likely includes a marketing fee that is advertising and a cost of doing business. Look up the invoice at Edmunds.com

You may do better but also maybe not. The 0% financing doesn't cost GM that much because interest rates (borrowing) are so low.

IMO you want the trailer towing package because it is the only way to get the 3.42 rear end which is a much better match for these vehicles engine and tramsmission than the standard 3.07.

This is what the dealer just emailed me:

"MSRP of the truck is $57,530, and invoice is $54,419.26. I will sell you this truck for invoice and also give you the 0% APR financing if you qualify. Because you have a Toyota, you would also qualify for the $500 conquest rebate that would be deducted after tax and license fees. "

According to other sites, invoice is closer to $52K with the "fair pricing" around $54K.

Ok, I'm happy with the trailering package then since I want beefier tires

That seems a lot for an SLT ... that's about the going price for a non xl denali.

I use carsdirect.com to see the going prices for new cars.

$54k? Something ain't right there.

What "invoice" are they referring to. Dealer makes more than $3k on the sale of the truck atleast I would assume it does.

That does seem high. I recommend calling another dealership near you and cross referencing pricing on a similarly equipped vehicle. Or even better yet, get them to compete for your business.

$3k upfront markup or "second sticker" is pretty common. Years ago they used to be higher when consumers were less educated. Used cars is where the higher profits are. New, not so much.

Hoe-n-it is Right on the money. 3% is dealer holdback amount, so SS is also correct, bc even if they sell at invoice, they make money.

Get that price below the TRUE invoice (Make they show you it, when you go in) and take the cash back instead of the financing, if they have the option. If you're able to qualify for top tier finance requirements for the GM 0% (keep in mind it will typically be a short term loan meaning a higher payment) then you can easily get a low rate from a credit union but have the "cash" from the rebate to lower the principal balance/purchase price (this is an ADDITIONAL discount to you negotiating the price below invoice).

What ever you do, don't buy it at the Vacaville, California GMC dealership. They will lie to you no matter what the cost just to make the sale. They lied to me and GM corporate won't do anything about it to help me out. I'm just saying!

Can you please provide more details?

What was sticker/MSRP?

When did you buy? Were the 2011s out already?

Does the city/state have anything to do with pricing? I'm in LOS ANGELES, CA.

thanks

The dealer claims that $52K would be with the quoted price with the $2K cash back (0% financing not included).

I asked for $50K and 0% financing, but he said they'd lose over $3K. Hmmm.

I don't mind waiting things out, even for the 2014s.

This is the only yukon xl SLT with all the right options and colors I want within 500 miles according to autotrader.com and GMC.com.

thanks to everyone for their input so far
