IMO, and from my car sales experience, to make it worth buying new, you should end up $8-$10k under MSRP on these trucks, including the rebates.

We dealer located our 2011 Tahoe with the exact options we wanted and our local dealer did a trade and fetched it for us (400 miles away). Ended up at $8500 under MSRP. Plus got all the money for our trade: used cars are a hot commodity for dealers. Your $500 Toyota rebate should be on top of whatever deal you get.

Certain times of year you could get a larger discount. Other times the dealership might not budge as much. Some of it is timing and the sales person or sales manager you're dealing with. If you're not getting the price you want from this dealership go to a different one and they can locate another vehicle with the same options you're looking for.

Thanks Macho.

That is the a pretty clear range for me to follow; exactly what I was looking for.

Well, Labor Day weekend is coming up and we'll see if the dealer wants to give away the vehicle or not, assuming it's still available.

The dealer may pay advertising fees that raise the price of the invoice a little bit. The only way to truely see what they pay is to have them show you a copy of the invoice. There is also dealer holdback which is about 3% of the MSRP but most dealers dont go too far into their holdback. Unfortunately the rebates aren't that big on these trucks right now. Also you can't combine the 0% and the 2k rebate. When I bought my Avalanche, I got around $6k just in rebates.
