Any recommendations on upgrades for these would also be appreciated

When did it start to sag?

Any other history on service of the front suspension?

Not sure honestly I got the Tahoe about 6 months ago started having a issue where I was hearing a clicking sound coming from the driver side wheel, thought it was the cv axle, that sound ended up going away now it sounds like I'm riding on a flat tire, but I haven't really been driving it since, been meaning to get it checked out at a shop , it's going to dealer next week for a airbag recall so hopefully they'll be able to tell me if anything is really wrong,

Score, free air bag recall means free diagnostic for front end by the dealership. Go all in and ask them for a complimentary safety inspection.

The dealership will smell you’re ready to open your wallet and go all out thinking they’ve got an $9k service job rolling in.

When the air bag is done and you get the estimate… RUN! Then get an estimate for 75% less at an Indi shop.

FWIW, I have a noise in mine that's akin to what you describe. Turns out the wheel bearing is completely toast. That obviously would not account for the substantial change in ride height though.

Little big update dealer declined free service check up, took to a shop my buddy recommended, get the call the guy says tires are bad uneven wear and tries to sell me on 4500 worth repairs, says I'm gonna need new front upper and lower control arms is what probably caused the tire wear, I ordered new rims and tires from custom offsets so I'm waiting on those before I get anything done so I'm not paying for multiple alignments, but the guy charging 2600 just for control arms seems stiff to me his labor break down is 2.5 hours just for each top arm and 1.5 each lower plus the alignment at the end of it all, still shopping around on prices in the mean time but considering doing myself just don't got a lot of time on my hands atm

What you shared, the hours add up to 8 hours just for the arms and at a $180/hr shop rate, which seems to be average these days, that’s $1440 just in labor.

Figure the control arms, based on what I see on RockAuto for GM original, will be around $275 each for the lowers and $160 each for the uppers, you’re looking at $880 for those parts plus incidentals like cam bolt kits.

That gets to you $2320 in parts and labor then you add shop miscellaneous fees and taxes, which on 2320 here would be $162 (7%) and $2600 doesn’t seem too far off with the alignment

I doubt that a shop would match Rock Auto's prices, but maybe they let you bring your own parts. Some shops won't do the work unless they provide (and mark up) the parts, and others might do the work but wouldn't warranty the work, or parts.

Agree that RockAuto is optimistic pricing and yes, the shop would put margin on top of what they pay.

I have had a number of conversations with folks lately thinking they were getting go to hell pricing on stuff and when you walk through the pricing, labor rate and such, they got reasonable pricing.

This is why I try and do as much as I can.
