2015 Denali: Are there issues with installing a second battery . . . any sensor issues??

I have always been on the F series side of life, and have always had 2 batteries. I would stay with F if they had a towing SUV like GM's Tahoe/Yukon platform, but they don't.

Nor can I afford to tow with my 7.3L TD 250 any longer at $2 more per gallon of fuel.

I just bought the truck and am trying to learn it . . . exceptional condition top and underneath . . .

I'll be touring towing a 6000 pound travel trailer. It has HD Trailering Package and the 6.2L motor.

Thanks in advance for any advice on the battery question, or any other things I should be thinking about with a GM truck.

Welcome to the site. I haven't done this mod yet, but am planning to in the spring. I'm adding a second battery in the open tray up front (you need to pick up a few new parts for that - they are cheap) and switching to a mechman alternator and 300a or 500a isolator. There's the battery current sensor (the little loop a few inches down the neg wire from the battery), but that shouldn't be an issue with the second battery - only really presents a concern if you're doing the Big 3 and the new wire is too large to fit through that loop. But even that should take 1/0 or 2/0 wire. Not familiar with any other concerns related to the second battery, other than smart routing of the wires to their destinations

When I do this, I'm going to add in a separate digital battery monitor for each battery as well
