Hi all,

I have 2004 Z71. So I am looking to upgrade my wheels from 17" alu, to 18" from a 2015 Tahoe. It is a direct swap right? TPS sensors will work and all?

Does anyone know what they are worth, for a set of 4 wheels with OEM tires with little use?

Direct swap, yes. TPMS sensors will not work though

Sensors swapped with body styles. And no, no way to upgrade the inside

You can have the ones in your current wheels installed in the new wheels. Or ignore the tire pressure warning light like I do in my jeep.

I am new to TPMS. Trying to figure it all out. I would love to have them since it at least gives you a heads up. Though I am hands on so would most likely know if something is wrong and keep an eye on tires. I would hate to deal with constant light on from fault.

Are TPMS batteries replaceable?

I was hoping to sell the old wheel with tires. If I do, i guess I can buy new sensors. If I can't, I can reuse sensors. Walmart does tire swaps for 12$ each tire. Buying new sensors and installing will probably set me back 200$

I guess I can always sell 2015 sensors and recoup some of that cost.

Anyone know why TMPS sensors changed over years? Is there more info provided to computer from new sensors? Just curious.

If you still have the same TPMS from 2004 I would just buy new sensors and have them installed.

No batteries aren't replaceable. It's a sealed unit. Just take your sensors out of your current wheels and put in basic valve stem cores. Then put your current sensors in new rims. REALLY easy.

If batteries are not replaceable, how do they check if they are still good? I bought truck last year. I have no idea if sensors were replaced (i have paperwork, but misplaced it, though even if it states replacement, it is no guarantee that it was done.)

Does Walmart and costco sell their own TPMS sensors? Does anyone know how much they charge and if they are any good? I have seen some generic models that can be programmed depending on vehicle they go into.

That is why I said just buy new ones, they are like $160.00 on ebay. Me I would personally rather spend a little money on new sensors than to pay to have old ones changed over then replace an old one in the next month or so.
