Go with led bulbs, I had similar issues with the hid and switched to led quite some time ago and have never looked back. The light output is less than hid but much brighter than stock. The appearance is just like hid as far as color and look.I bought a Philips HID conversion kit, and the first day it was working fine. Then a couple days later the driver side bulb went out, I turned off the lights and then back on and that seemed to help. Then the lights started flickering, therefore after reading a lot of things about HID conversion kits, I decided to try the Retrofit Source, the guy I talked to assured me that they were going to work, so I followed his instructions. A day later after I installed them, the lights were flickering like strobes, and then both would turn off. By the time I got home from work, and try to remove the kit, 4 of my LEDs on the DRL (I have 16' Tahoe) went out. I put back the halogen, even though I hate the way they look. I do not know what else to try. I have read every single comment in this thread, and it seems that there is not a single kit that will work. I wonder if there is a way to cut the wire Xenon option. I saw some used headlights on eBay going for $600.00. I was even thinking of buying a new pair, but I am not sure if they are just plug and play.

If you do decide to go with led, get the fan less ones...

Subd for this answer too.
Don't feel like dealing with HID issues on my wife's truck. But something has to be done cause the halogens are Horrible.
Do you have a link of what you got by any chance?
