2019 to 2020 trade opinion

Getting the 6.2 is going to tie me into the highest trim they offer which has loads of stuff I don't want. Too bad they don't offer the engine as a stand alone option. I guess they know lots of people would order it that way so they figure if you want it bad enough pay us an extra 20 grand so we can shove all these other options in with it. As far as a supercharger I want to be able to trade or sell it easily when the time comes. I think that for the average buyer and the dealer that supercharger is going to be a drawback over a stock truck. If you find the right guy it's a plus but I think it narrows the pool when you decide to sell or trade. I have a modded 427 Impala SS and a Challenger 392 also so this Tahoe is just my daily driver and I would like to keep it close to stock.

For just a bolt on supercharger, its easy to return to stock if you wanted to, but actually down here in texas it would sell and would be worth more than a regular stocker.

But honestly... If it were mine, I would talk to blackbear performance, you will be amazed what just pulling some torque management out will do for it. If you wanted to swap gears, talk to LKQ and see if they have a low mileage complete rear axle with 3.42 or 3.73, just bolt it in and have the tune calibrate for it.

I drive it locked into 5th gear anyway so that stupid 4 cylinder garbage never comes on anyway. I just have to believe the 3:42's have to make it a little more responsive around town....which is where I do 95% of my driving. I have to mash the pedal also. it feels like the pedal actually fights you to be pushed lol. Maybe it's my imagination but I've never had a vehicle with such a stiff gas pedal. I'm just going to have to drive one with the 3:42's and see for myself. I thought the responses here would be more positive but it seems most don't notice a difference in stock tune.

In my mind the next generation is going to bring in all trim levels push or dial shiftier, start/stop crap where the engine shuts off every stop, IRS, buzzing seats and all sorts of warnings going off, involuntary braking etc. These are all things I want no part of. I realize I am in the minority here but I'm 56 years old and I want a regular old fashioned truck, or as close as I can get to one. So I think 2020 is going to be my last shot at buying that new....that's the only reason I want to keep it longer than I usually do. To each their own as they say. So I would like the best performance from the factory I can get in the trim level that doesn't include all the modern features everyone seems to love. That leaves me with the LS. Again, I think I will have to drive one with 3:42's and see if I notice a difference I'm willing to pay for.

Run, do not walk, to Black Bear Performance. Justin tuned mine in person. I'm happy as can be.

I told him that I'm a suburban dad who just wants optimized throttle response and transmission shift points, and I wasn't looking to do burnouts or 11-seconds in the 1/4 mile. He also converted my Tow Mode to Sport Mode. Made it a whole new truck.
