Hello All.

So, just this past week I noticed when I pressed the temperature display on the center infotainment screen, it no longer would display The Weather Channel App.
At First I thought the screen was not working, but that didn't resolve the issue. I went into the APPS section in the system, and noticed that the Weather Channel app
was no longer available, and was no longer installed.

I called Onstar from the truck to see what was going on, and the support person told me the following.

"The Weather Channel has decided no to offer the app any longer, as they decide (TWC) to no longer support this infotainment system with GM".

I asked what about an alternative, since I for one found its Radar screen very helpful in poor weather. She said that apparently Onstar is looking into a replacement, but no idea when or if.

In addition I complained that I did not receive any notification that this service was being continued and is one of the reasons I have continued to pay for the service.
Anyone else notice this? Any answers to a replacement?

I’m very glad I’m not the only person who used that app. I really enjoyed it. Came back from a business trip and was using the radar to avoid some storms that had hail in them, then literally the very next day I noticed a gap in my icons and discovered it was the Weather Channel App that was missing.

I’m pretty sure GM has close to abandoned this infotainment platform in place of their Google Built in version in the 22’s and up yet there’s a few vehicles like the Cadillac XT6 which still have it in there.

For radar an alternate is MyRadar if you use CarPlay but it doesn’t do the temp or weather forecasts.

That's too bad as I used it too as we travelled state to state, especially in bad weather as it kept us up to date with valid watches and warnings in areas we were approaching/travelling through and current radar data.....
