2023 YUKON CONSTRAINTS LIST?

I have an order placed for a Yukon XL AT4 with the 6.2L. I spoke to a different dealer last week that told me the 6.2L is on constraint for the AT4 and I'd have to go Denali to get it. I searched the inventory site and sure enough, there's not a single AT4 6.2L out there.

Yes, call me very skeptical as well.

Last I heard 2 weeks ago Duramax was at 15% and Max tow was at 60%. Max tow may have improved but it is very doubtful that the Duramax went from 15% to 100% when it was projected to stay at 10 - 15% through the remainder of the 2023 model year.

I'll try to get some updated info today.
The lm2 is phased out of trucks in favor of lz0. So id imagine they are trying to finish whatever stocks of lm2 components they have to make the full switch across the board. Demand destruction and better supply has led to more orders being picked up.

Your mileage may vary depending on dealer.

I did this exact same search a few days ago. Not a one to be found. Ultimately that's the config I wanted. bigger engine, slightly lower cost than Denali. Not happening.

With interest rates being what they now are, I suspect GM will saturate the high end of the market and need to start building more lower cost alternatives that buyers still want. Fingers crossed. I'm going to hang onto my 2 older XL Denalis for a few more years yet even though I can afford a new one. They're still just as reliable as the new ones, if not moreso.

Does the allocation process go in cycles for dealerships? My dealer has not received a Yukon allocation since September but have received other models over the last few weeks since the last Yukon allocation.

no allocation for a single Yukon - regardless of trim level? or have they gotten a couple SLTs but no higher end allocations?

And did they say no Yukons or no Yukon XLs...I'd expect there to be a significant difference in the allocation volume (across the board at all dealerships) between Yukons and Yukon XLs...meaning I could see where a smaller-ish dealer hasn't received an XL allocation for several weeks

mention that because I think you were ordering a Yukon XL Denali Ultimate...maybe with a diesel? something that a small to mid size dealer may never get an allocation for...

Yes - it's not a consistent allocation process. I'm sure there's a rhyme and reason to that, but only within GM would that be known. Also, I was talking with a local dealer that received a '23 Suburban LS about a month ago (still sitting on their lot today) and he said "Yeah, GM basically sent us this Suburban - we didn't get to choose options or even the color." I think a fair amount of the '23s that are being produced right now are based on GM production planning looking at what they have the parts to build complete and then distributing those rigs to dealerships. Those of us that have specific orders with options that are on constraint just sit and wait...

I ask my rep every week and he will tell me how many of which model were allocated for that week. I don’t think he has said the same model twice so being new to this GMC process, I was curious if GMC HQ does a rotation and have to get back around to the Yukon XL models before they give them an allocation.

Just to add to what @todayusay and @StephenPT said, it sounds like your dealer might be on the smaller side, especially if they haven't had a Yukon allocation since September. To give you an example, the inventory manager at a fairly large dealership told me he got 5 "XL" allocations one week and then 2 "XL" allocations the next week. He didn't get any standard Yukon's during those 2 weeks. Then for the next 2 or 3 weeks he got some standard Yukon allocations but no "XL" allocations. He expected after 3 weeks he would get some more "XL" allocations. If your dealer hasn't gotten a Yukon allocation since September you may have a long wait and may want to consider another dealer.

No constraints currently
seems to be a whole 2 yukon XL's in transit with max tow that is not an advanced tech package or Reserve package unit. Sure seems like it's constrained
