2024 Denali road noise

We have a 2021 Yukon Denali with NT420V tires - https://www.nittotire.com/suv-cuv-tires/nt420v-luxury-truck-suv-tire/

And our ride is reasonable / pleasant noise wise. It's comparable / maybe a little better than our 2004 SRX Cadillac and 2011 CTS.

I remember putting on the Michelin Primacy tires on our ( sold) 1999 Infiniti I30 . The tires were so quiet, I heard an increase of wind noise.. That's because the old tires were making enough sound to hide it.

since 2015 the metal is thinner, road noise comes thru a lot more.
grab some cheap audio sound deadening, prices vary a lot on amazon, you don't need a brand name, nobody's pulling up your carpet to look
add as much coverage as you can under the carpet and around the wheel wells in the rear body and inside the doors, it will make a TON of difference, the stuff is just peel and stick.

Morning!

I just took delivery of a 2024 Yukon Denali about 2 weeks ago. Now, I came out of a Bronco so road noise was a given. That said, I want to make sure I'm not crazy. I feel like for the money (despite it being a full size body on frame brick) that there is too much road noise. I have fixed running boards and i feel like the majority of the noise is coming from the lower section of the truck. It could also be the Bridgestone tires.

I have had a multitude of GM trucks and i feel like they were all quieter. Gaps look good, weather strips are good. I am also unfairly comparing it to my wife's GLE which is an egg but it is dead quiet inside.

Dealer says "its normal. these aren't really quiet trucks."

I love it otherwise. So tell me I'm crazy and it's normal. PFA

Not to be negative..... just cautious.... Our new Infiniti came with Dunlop tires... ( $220.00 a tire)
The description is same as these Continentals...
Infiniti chose to use the Dunlops because this tire made the car smoother, better handling, etc, to SELL.
The expensive Dunlops lasted barely 20,000 miles.. Due to SOFT rubber / wear.

I would download an app on your phone that measure decibles. I was just watching a video on the 2025 High Country and they were getting 57 decibles on the new 24 inch wheels at 55 MPH.
It would be interesting to see what you are getting.
If it is a lot higher, at least you can tell the dealership that you have a data point and your vehicle is a lot higher.
It is easy for the dealership to blow you off if it is based on your feelings, but if yours is off the chart compared to 57 decibles at 55 MPH, at least you can give them that data point.
It would also be interesting to see what other people are seeing with different tire combinations.
BTW, I love that color combination. That really looks awesome.

58 dB. That said its definitely the tires. I rode in my friends high country with the 22's and he did Michelins. Different truck.

I have had these for 3 years. Michelin Defender LTX M/S , 265/75R/17 for my '05.

Thanks for the reply. I have those tires on an Infiniti QX56 and am very happy with them. Good to know they work well on a Chevy / GMC.
