We moved from a 2017 Yukon XL Denali to a 2024 Yukon XL AT4 (6.2L V8 GAS) and standard cruise control (not adaptive that we now no longer have) seems to work differently and I believe this is not correct, basically when putting the car in cruise control on downhill it's not keeping speed, but just picking up speed as it doesn't seem to brake on the transmission by downshifting (believe this is called cruise grade braking and is standard feature on all Yukon's). We also noticed that normal grade braking is not kicking in this I also believe is standard and get triggered when doing excessive braking on a downhill without being in cruise.
