I just received my 2025 Tahoe, and I would like some help with where to find switched (on when ignition is on) in the wiring section on the windshield behind the rear view mirror.
If you don't have the 2025 stuff, maybe the 2024 will work.

I had the info for my old 2015 Tahoe and posted my install. I got the info on the wiring from hosseface. (It was Violet/green 12v, and Black ground #2 & #5 on the 2015 connector)
here is a link to the old 2015 install. INSTALL
I will generate a 2025 install whenever I get the correct two wires.

Sadly, there are no 12v power outlets (cigarette lighter type) on the 2025, so I cannot use my Valentine 12v power cord temporarily. My wiring harness which I made, connects to the mirror area, then the V1, then runs down to a remote display mounted on the dash, so I cannot use it until I get the correct wires.

New Tahoe is very nice. I have a silver LT, 4WD, max trailer, power 2nd row buckets, Panoramic power sunroof, Comfort package.
I got the Gideon/Very Dark Atmosphere interior package. I thought it was essentially some crappy black and light grey on the seats, but thankfully it is actually very dark cocoa brown
on the dash, interior panels and carpets, with light grey on the seats, I really like it.

Thank you for the reply, I didn't know that thing existed. I will grab one from Amazon today, so I have a back up until I can get the final wiring done.

My Escalade has what looks like a cigarette lighter type outlet on the passenger side cubby hole

Thanks for the suggestions. I bought the usb to 12 volt power supply that AMWWORKS suggested, and it worked fine, but the dangling cord was not something that I could live with.
So after days of looking at you Tube, and Googling 2025 tahoe , I still did not have a good video to follow.
I also noted that typically for all the videos I saw, the hot with ignition wire generally has Violet, and is #2 on the connector, and the ground is generally Black and is in position 5, as it was on my 2015 Tahoe.
So yesterday I dove into it, and found the correct wires, and started wiring, and I plan on finishing today. I will post the procedure with pictures in a few days.

OK, the deed is done.
1) Remove the center section of the cover on the windshield camera and wiring. This was very difficult, as the center section did not want to come out , the retainers had so much grab on it.
So I used a fork in the slots at the top, and pulled down while my wife held the main cover in place. I did not want it to come off before the center section. PULL HARD at the top, lift bottom up and out so pins which stick down don't get broken off.
look at the pics to see how the tabs fit in (top is to the right)

2) pry under edge of main cover at 10:00, 2:00, 5:00 and 7:00 oclock, and lift off.

3) The connector you want is at the bottom , and runs horizontally

notice the ( +12 Volts with ignition on)Violet wire at Position #2, and the (Ground) Black with White stripe at Position #5

I will start another response as I have hit limit on pics.

4) place the pins in the back of the connector, 12v in the violet hole, and Ground in the Black/White hole

replace the connector into its mate.

If you are just powering a detector , you are done, you can replace the main cover , then the center cover.

In my case, I had made a harness, so I could use the remote mute button. Here is the harness, and a diagram of how I constructed it. I ran the wires under the headliner, across to the left A Pillar, around the A Pillar to the outside, down the A pillar under the gasket to the bottom of the Dashboard, then up through the dash alongside the moveable steering column, then over to the remote.

Here is the remote , mounted on the dash, and the detector mounted on the windshield. The advantage of the remote is that the V1 is dark when using the remote.
The Large Valentine suction cups kept the detector on my 2015 Taho for 10 years, so I have faith in them.
