2025 Yukon 3.0l Diesel MPG Discrepancy

Just lifted a window sticker of an In-Transit Yukon from the internet. The fueleconomy.gov mpg on the sticker indicates 24mpg highway but the fuelenonomy.gov web site lists 26mpg highway.

Any thoughts on why the discrepancy?

It gets what it gets depending on your driving, but no matter what, it's at least 40% better than the nearest petrol engine. Not really worried about what the sticker says...... We know how good it is.....

The diesel's increase over the 5.3 and 6.2 is why I opted for it and why I am still waiting for my allocation. My wife and father both nagged me to get the 6.2, but for a daily driver I cannot compete with the 3.0's fuel economy.

I was wondering the same thing. So I looked up a window sticker of a 24 LM2 Yukon and it doesn't really match the EPAs numbers either. I guess its like what @Stbentoak said. We'll get what we get while driving. Its going to be better than the gas burners anyways.

Just for the record... Diesel models usually EXCEED epa numbers while gas models usually don't meet advertised numbers.....

Well, it's basically based on many records of recorded mileage of owners that I have read about over the years in various EcoDiesel and Duramax forums I have participated in.
There has been a general recorded consensus that their vehicle is EXCEEDING the recorded EPA # on the sticker on Diesel vehicles. I've hardly ever seen a large V8 or HD truck gasser ever exceed, let alone even come close to EPA #'s on their sticker on a regular basis....

My wife's Tahoe 3.0 gets 28-30 mpg all day cruising at 75-80 on the freeway. My MPG information page for the last 450 miles is 26 mpg which includes a good mix.

Just treated myself to a 2025 AT4 and that also gets far above the window sticker. Even with the factory lift and aggressive tires I average 26 MPG per 450 miles. Just drove it 300 miles to southern Utah with a constant 30 mph headwind. I still averaged 21 mpg cruising at 80 mpg. To Stbentoak's point, I would have maybe pulled 12 mpg in those conditions with my 2006 5.3 Silverado that I just let go.

The 3.0 is worth the wait. Took me a full year back in 2022 to get our Tahoe even though many gas options were on the lot that tempted me.

Yep.. Same here.... I really wouldn't have dropped 100K+ on a new one if I surely didn't think it was seriously worth it.... and it is....
I'm pretty sure my 25 will be 6 months (Ordered Mid Dec 24) in all reality before it hits the ground running... But that is all forgotten about on the 1st drive home.....

Could be it's not apples to apples. Vehicle weights can vary, e.g. 2 row seats v. 3 row; tire size or inflation pressure. Exact data of the pariculars of what/when any test was made may affect why two figures are published.
