I have been wanting to do a cam swap in my truck for awhile now, and I've done a good bit of research and talked to CompCams and they told me the best one for my setup is their 212/218. My mind is pretty set on that cam, so tell me what yall think about it. low lift or high lift? Also what springs and rods should i upgrade to, and do I need to upgrade the rockers as well as a matching stall? Any help is much appreciated.
Forgot to mention it is a daily driver, about 40/60 interstate and in town.

wish I could answer, but I'm looking to do the same and would definitely benefit from reading the answers you get. Is the 212/218 pretty mild? I'm looking for some gains, but mine is a daily driver as well so I don't need a track car.

If you are looking to eventually go FI, definitely 115 LSA or comparable.

I was running a 208/212 115LSA on my Tahoe was a great cam.

From what MadTunes Racing talks about down here its a pretty good overall cam. People told me to run ls6 yellow springs and some hardened rods to be on the safe side, but what else. Do i need to upgrade my rockers? Stall?

It is a very common cam, you will want the springs and rods, rockers are a toss up. Stall is always good, so long as you know what other mods you will be adding down the road.

Thats the trucker cam right? I narrowed my search down to that one whether FI or NA it seems to be a good torque cam for a heavy truck. The comp cam trunion upgrade seems to be a cheap option too.
