not according to kicker.com
he has the cvr-alums
this is copied direct from kickers site....

I work for Kicker...

CVR in DVC has always come in dual 2, and dual 4. Except back when they were ONLY available in SVC, like 88-to early 90's.

I have done a TON of systems, and the loudest by far for me, was one Solo X 12" ported off a KX2500.1 ran at 1 ohm.In my old Tahoe was sick...

o ok, thats cool and all i was just saying i got the info direct off kickers site so if you work for kicker you may wanna tell them to change that on the site b/c its misleading...
as for the solox 12. i had it in a gs400 lexus and it was cool but just wasnt loud as i thought it would be..i also ran a 2500.1 and the bench sheet it came with said 2937rms@1ohm... i sold the solo, got a 9512 and it sounded so much better, on a termlab it was 1.8db louder but felt and sounded much louder than that... dropped lower too... i was real impressed for a single 12

ive also had friends swap solox15s for dc lvl4als and it went from loud to wtf is back there lol...
sorry no more love for kicker from me.. only like some of their amps and even they're over priced honestly

Not trying to be an ******* but brah... its right there...... :hands:

as for the soloX.
the box(S) were built to kicker specs from a kicker dealer.
one was 6cubes tuned to 45hz as specs said.. sounded very sloppy to me. so they made a new one that was tuned to 38hz... and i wasnt satisfied with the output. then they said to try a smaller box but it would push the thermal limits quicker.. tried 4cubes tuned to 38hz... sounded tighter but damn right, wouldnt take the 2500.1 well.. it would bottom out easy even with a subsonic filter at 25hz...

so $700 later worth of boxes i took the soloX out...
bought the 9512D and it was put into 3.2 cubes after displacement tuned to 34hz... sounded awesome. got loud as hell, got lower and took the 2500.1 no problem...
simply put better overall sub hands down

as for my boy chris with the solox's.. he said he has solox 18s.. i thought they we're 15s b/c they didnt look THAT big when i saw them. but a co worker has l7 15s and i can see the size difference easily now. but chris said he's putting them in a crx he's building for burps. gonna run 12k on each one(probably wont last to many burps)
he took them outta his daily driver a little over 2 months ago and put 2 dc audio lvl4xl 15s in and its seriously louder with the same power. he's running a digital designs z2 and those subs dont break a sweat but the solox's surrounds ripped 2-3 times and kept getting them reconed. he told me they just arent designed well for daily so he's gonna see what the solox's will do for burps.

my first system at 17 was a full kicker system and i was very satisfied which is why i became a repeat customer but now that i ventured out i'll never go back...i do still have my kx2500.1 but it has a few blown mosfets... messing around one day and voltage dropped badly... the place i was gonna fixed at said $300 so right now its a paper weight b/c im getting my crescendo 5500 soon as they start shipping on the 20th, called in today with my american express card number :)

That is showing what is 'available' now to still purchase, old tech manuals for a 2007 woofer are still in the tech area.
http://www.kicker.com/sites/default/files/2007CompVR.pdf

Some older alum CVR's are still available, but not all impedances.
Thats why it states clearly (available only at select retailers)

Dont know what your prob was, I used to run our Competition Team and they ( most Street A, B and C and up) ran Solo X and won many World Titles.
Dont know, maybe they did something magical.
6 cubes is HUGE for one 12's.........no wonder it sounded bad.

matter of fact, Rusty, owner of DC, his wife Ana used to be on my team. She ran Street A and dominated. Used Solo x's if I remember right. Rusty, Ana and I go way back.

If your box was tuned at 38hz, SSF set at 25hz, and they bottomed out, you simply were unloading them in a ported box. Playing well below tuning frequency. Thats not a subs fault. You didnt bottom out a Solo X, look at the T-cut top plate, with that power, next to impossible. Unloaded it, yes. Bottom it out, I doubt.

DD makes great subs, about 60 miles from me. A better overall sub(?), well, to you. Maybe it doesnt work for others that have tried and got the X louder, dunno.

The 18's might, depends on install and user, my Comp team won USACi with three L5 10's, with out 3000 to each.

But I wont sit and debate which is better, or worse.

Get what works for you.

The OP was taken care of, debate over.

This is the exact reason I didint want to state I work here, it always turns into a debate with someone.......
