A ported Solo X 12 and a DD would require totally different boxes and tuning for optimal.
And we dont, nor ever have made Solo X 15's, so your sure your not confused on woofers?
and sorry we are not your butter for your bread, but we do well for a 38 year old compnay, I'm pleased.
AGGGGGHHHH LOL

Not trying to be an ******* but brah... its right there......
as for the soloX.
the box(S) were built to kicker specs from a kicker dealer.
one was 6cubes tuned to 45hz as specs said.. sounded very sloppy to me. so they made a new one that was tuned to 38hz... and i wasnt satisfied with the output. then they said to try a smaller box but it would push the thermal limits quicker.. tried 4cubes tuned to 38hz... sounded tighter but damn right, wouldnt take the 2500.1 well.. it would bottom out easy even with a subsonic filter at 25hz...
so $700 later worth of boxes i took the soloX out...
bought the 9512D and it was put into 3.2 cubes after displacement tuned to 34hz... sounded awesome. got loud as hell, got lower and took the 2500.1 no problem...
simply put better overall sub hands down
as for my boy chris with the solox's.. he said he has solox 18s.. i thought they we're 15s b/c they didnt look THAT big when i saw them. but a co worker has l7 15s and i can see the size difference easily now. but chris said he's putting them in a crx he's building for burps. gonna run 12k on each one(probably wont last to many burps)
he took them outta his daily driver a little over 2 months ago and put 2 dc audio lvl4xl 15s in and its seriously louder with the same power. he's running a digital designs z2 and those subs dont break a sweat but the solox's surrounds ripped 2-3 times and kept getting them reconed. he told me they just arent designed well for daily so he's gonna see what the solox's will do for burps.
my first system at 17 was a full kicker system and i was very satisfied which is why i became a repeat customer but now that i ventured out i'll never go back...i do still have my kx2500.1 but it has a few blown mosfets... messing around one day and voltage dropped badly... the place i was gonna fixed at said $300 so right now its a paper weight b/c im getting my crescendo 5500 soon as they start shipping on the 20th, called in today with my american express card number
