been lurking on fullsizechevy(good 454 knowledge base) and i noticed a lot of there obs guys are running 37s and 38s i think it looks great how much additional wear and tear am i going to see with the bigger tires? will my performance suffer? would they be better for off roading or is it just a looks thing?

38s and bigger are usually for looks. What 35s are you running now? What type of terrain are you wheeling on? IMO, go with a better tire rather than bigger. Maybe consider some 35" or 37" boggers if you mud a lot.

sorry its a 1994 gmc yukon has a 454 out of a 92 burban and hydro boost 4.10 gears sitting on a 6" procomp suspension with a 3" body lift not cranked at all cv axles are strait

truck is used primarily off road im rockin 35''s now but they look small i wanna step up to 37'' or 38''s

I would definitely get rid of the 10 bolt rear axle if you haven't already. I have seen people snap 10 bolt axles with bald 33s and a tbi 305.:uhoh2:

damn way under geared......well thats lame
That chart isn't the best chart for picking gears. I think you would be fine with 37s, 4.10s, and a 454 but I have never run that combo. The 454 has more low end torque than a 350.

Hey post up a pic of your rig dude! I wanna go similar set up!

This. Sounds pretty sweet! :)

If it were me Id rock some good 35s or 37s max.
38s would be cool, but limiting.

I've seen that dude over at GM full size! What size tires are those?! Geez! That's a monster. Wide tires will kill your rear end faster than tall tires..

Monster man!
If I remember correctly he's running a beefed up 14 bolt...
To me it's too much, but my truck is more than likely too little for him. Haha It's a monster, that's no doubt.
