5/7 drop bishes

What shocks are you going with the Bilsteins or the Fox? I need some new shocks and I am lowered 3-5 and thinking (if the wheels clear) maybe going another inch but I have to have a better ride. With the shocks having a bumpstop do you need the Z71 BS? Also what coils would you think would lower the back of a Yukon XL 5 1/2 or 6 inches and have a super soft spring rate yet corner really well?

Foxes. I'm thinking an airlift wireless air kit, about 15-20psi on helper bags, + these belltech coils will ride firm but soak up the bumps. I will have to notch my frame but it was inevitable, lowest static drop is what I'm after no matter what I have to cut. I really like these bilsteins but feel the foxes will ride better, still contemplating what to do for front shocks I may have to relocate some shock mounts to gain some travel.

How much are the Fox shocks compaired to the Bilsteins? Which rides the more firm and which is the softest? I want the truck to ride just a little more "sporty" than stock if that makes sense.

Foxes retail for $150, bilsteins are $84/ea. I'm calling bilstein tomorrow to check on our purchase orders, thinking my shocks are holding the ass up because I installed the new coils tonight and it only dropped about 1/2" but the spring rate seems to be higher on these which is great. I now have approximately 1" of uptravel on my shocks and the axle is about 3" from the frame. I was hoping for a bit more drop but it is a good thing if these coils are stiffer once settled. Once I get the shocks sorted out, section 1/2" out of the panhard to relocate the axle, and cut some new sway bar links it should ride pretty nice and I'll finally be done with the damn thing. I don't have pics of it on the ground since it was getting late at work and I wanted to get the hell out of there, but here is a pic of the two springs old vs. new:



Here is how the truck sat Tuesday, hopefully this gives me the extra inch I'm after or I'll just bag the damn thing

Still looking sick, disappointment it did not get to where you wanted, did you try taking the shocks off and letting the truck sit on the coils only for a while to see if its the shocks or coils?

Thanks guys, it has come a long way. I didn't try pulling the shocks since it needs time to settle but the new bilsteins should solve any hangups I may be having and maybe ride better than these (which would be amazing). Gonna be funny with HD bilsteins up front and the silver 5100s out back lol.

so that just struck my curiosity..
jack the back suspension up let the shock bolts loose and let the jack down so its resting on the springs

is that safe to do, I mean obviously just sitting and not driving

but I kind of want to try that now to see if my shocks are really holding me up

Nope that is a safe thing to do, I just didn't want to mess with it since I'm replacing them shortly. Just be sure to use jackstands
