6000K HID Fogs for an 05 Tahoe Z71

I have been contemplating getting HID fogs for my 05 Tahoe Z71. After reading multiple threads, I'm very confused if they will work out or not? My Tahoe has the cheap circular plastic lenses on the fogs and I have read that certain HID's have melted the plastic. Does anyone have a similar model Tahoe / plastic lens cover that has not melted with HID's? The HID bulbs look like they might be too long for the fog light housing? I am currently running 6000K HID Lows and they work great! The last thing I want to do is screw up my current fogs. Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated! I have heard a lot of good and bad experiences with DDM HID's. Thank You!
