6hi mod

Is there any way to do a 6hi mod (fogs, lows, highs) on the OBS trucks? I cant even find instructions for the 4hi mod for OBS trucks.

Actually you would do a 4-hi mod and make sure your fogs are not disabled in the process therefore having 6-hi mod. Many people her have done that. Going to do the 4 headlight mod soon after I fix my engine. Will add more light later. I bought a $28 relay kit from painless performance which has all the needed components. What year is yours?

No but see Chevy made a short 6 month production run of a 2000 z71 old body style as they transitioned to the NBS. So its close to identical to the 1999 but fully loaded with brushguard and the rest. So I would assume my wiring is the same too.

Send him a message and he can give you all the info on what he did. I know he made some changes to it lately. I will have to look at my diagrams to come up with a fix to do the fogs too.

I made up another one of my famous 'art' drawings to show how to add OBS Limited Fogs to make a 6-hi.



It needs another diode from the High beam light green wire to the fogs purple wire. Point the end of the diode with the band towards the purple.

If you really wanted to, you could add a relay kit at that point. I'd run it like this first to see how it goes though.

Ehhhmmm... Please allow me to shed some sunlit on this... It sounds like ur highs R on... Thats the only way the fog lights will shut off unless u do so with the fog light switch... Im interested in a 6-hi mod as well... Im not even sure if a 4-hi mod would some how disable the fog lights...

Thanks a bunch 99Yuk I'm going to take a look at it today and see how it goes. I'm planning on running 6k lows 3k fots, and philips xtreme power highs. If I cant figure it out are there any commercial kits i could buy to do this? I'm relatively new at car electronics.
