If the rubber can only shrink so much..
I wouldn't be surprised if a washer and old dipstick outlasts a new dipstick!

heat and other environment conditions effect rubber & plastic, my bet is you could find one in acceptable working condition in the junkyard.
say one that was garage kept and driven gently may have less shrinkage than one that was driven hard and parked outside in the sun

I have found this to be the case for a variety of things, some may crumble in your fingers and others may still be like new.
i am poor I have spent a bit of time perusing yards for parts or "better" parts
and pro tip, unless it's set price list most yards are open to negotiating a price
