I recently bought a 98 tahoe, started changing all the fluids and was wondering if anyone recommends getting the trans fluid flushed or dropping the pan an installing a new filter and fluid.Any info would be appreciated. On another note,i cant seem to track down the humming or whining from the front end.Changed transfer case fluid, its fine.Only think i noticed was the trans fluid was dirty an bubbling on the stick. its driving me insane.Don't think its a wheel bearing.Again any info would be great. This forum helped me with a lot so far an im grateful

Dropping the pan only gets a small portion of the actual fluid out.

Best bet is to do a full fluid flush. You can do it yourself with a helper provided you know how to locate the transmission cooler lines.

Even easier if you have a tranny cooler. My GMC does. Don't know if it is standard on Tahoes...

How many miles on her? I was told that once you go above a 100k and have never had the fluid flushed, just do the filter and call it a day.
