ok i went and verified the clearance on the P/S pump pulley. if your diagram is right the pulley has definitely walked itself out over the years. cant even see the pump shaft i had to feel for it. its a good half inch out. so i guess its that time. i know these are a real pain to do on these trucks also. r.i.p.
truck is on its 3rd belt i ruled out defective belt a while ago. im gonna replace the pump / pulley and then the belt. if the squeak comes back i will try the sand paper idea. i have heard of these cheapo autozone belts causing squeaking. im going to go all out and go gator back lol
i did wire brush all the accessory drive pulleys including crank pulley before installing new belts in the past already. never actually tried sand paper the surface hmmm.
edit: just ordered 2 new gator back belts lol lets see how this works after the pump install
Just use a pulley puller/installer and push it back on. You’ll hear a difinitive “pop” sound when it’s set in place.
