Misfiring=not burning the fuel. Raw fuel in the catalytic is bad.

OK I will keep that in mind. I really hope not cuz I don't want to spend another 400 on crappy emissions stuff LOL.

But see there is a plus side to this. Magnaflow makes a non crappy hi-flow replacement assembly.

Yes I know. I have only driven about 40 miles with this thing misfiring. It has been sitting for about 5 months due to a shattered rear carrier bearing on the diff and I just recently replaced it. Soon as I did and then started it up a check engine light came on and started missing. Then I drove it about 40 miles before parking it. I don't know if that's too much or not.

Yea... gonna price them out and see... if I put one on I have to do both banks correct? To keep the back pressure the same?

A 49 state non California unit is about$260 at amazon right now. It is straight bolt on from mani's to ****, y pipe, dual converters, flanges and all. Just better. I strongly suggest all four Oxy's be replaced with Delphi or delco units to ensure the new converters and engine are in harmony with each other. After this whole misfire issue is resolved first of course. Don't put the new stuff on until the engine is smoothing.

260$???? damn thats cheap, ordering as soon as my wife says ok after I bug her enough. I think I'll do some shorty headers too unless you think that those others will ever actually be manufactured for our trucks. On a side note with the MPFI conversion, is it worth it? does it add more power? Ive read that it makes smoother idle and smoother acceleration but does it add more power? And anyone got any idea how much a BB tune would run me?

UPDATE:
OK So I started pulling everything apart today and everything went very smoothly except I cannot get the torsion bars removed from the keys. Per Sunlit's recommendation I am going to go get an air hammer and use it on the tail end of the torsion bar. There is a small penny/dime sized hole on that side so hopefully I can get it to work.

UPDATE:
Got everything apart, the passenger side was even tougher to get the torsion bar off because apparently I have hit a few things over the course of the last 212xxx miles. So all taken apart now, and took the LCA & UCA to a guy to press the bushings and ball joints. I have a few pictures of me taking it all apart and will post them later.

btw seafoam thru the brake booster hose is ineffective.

http://www.seafoamsales.com/cleanin...n-vortec-and-other-exotic-intake-engines.html

I decided to wait until my lift kit comes in before i put it all back together. So it should be here in about a week and a half.

Makes sense about the seafoam... Guess i should look into stuff more before i just go ahead and do it. Thanks for the info sunlit.
