Ok so I had HID's installed today and driving home in a near blizzard I really like the output (6k) but then I tried the high beams and noticed there almost non existant. I just got home and was switching back and fourth from high beams and low beams, the high beam is definetely working but its not HID its a white/yellow stock looking light. WTF? Again there is a crazy snow storm rite now so I really didnt get deep into it as im freezing my ass off but I will investigate further tomorrow. I guess the real test will be next weekend when im upstate with zero lights! Living in NYC its pretty lit up......

Next issue/rant is this POS that I bought doesnt have heated mirrors! UNBELIEVABLE!

Lastly is my rear defroster doesnt work at all. When I bought this POS one wire and tab was hanging off so with the help of you guys I bought the kit and installed the one side back on but evidently either I didnt it properly or there is a bigger problem.

As you were told in your previous HID thread, the light output/pattern is completely different because you've put a HID bulb in a halogen housing. You will not get the correct output on lows or highs because of this.

This thread will help explain more...

as well as this link to the output with great pictures...

You can always upgrade to the DL3 or Esky mirrors. A lot of people remove their OEM DL3 mirrors to get the Esky mirrors, so the best deal will be the OEM DL3 takeoffs.

I'd have a professional look at it. It might be something they can easily fix, or tell you that you need new glass. They are the professionals, as we can only give opinions. I wouldn't trust anyones opinion on here over a professionals in the middle of a blizzard when I really need to see out the windows... lol

I'm pretty sure all of the mirrors on this truck have heated mirrors just need to press the rear defogger

Did you get the upgrade to allow for high beam? Because it's a multi use bulb

I'm having my friend soulder it back on at his car shop next week

The low ouput is excellant, well so far anyway. Its the high beam that has me confused. I originally bought some cheapo bulbs and the same thing. Low beam was excellant but when I tried to use the high beams a few times it was like it was the daytime running lites were on by themselves. I actually thought it was a single filament bulb.......

What are DL3 mirrors? How much can I find them for? How about esky mirrors? Is the wiring the same? Just pisses me off that my 2000 Esclade (which is OBS) had them but this thing doesnt!

Mine is soldered on but neither side worked.

Dl3 is powerfold
And I wouldn't trust that they gave you the right bulb I just bought mine and I was specifically asked if I want functioning hi-beams or not because are lights are a multi-use h13 light

Nope, no powerfold which sucks as I have a really narrow driveway.

As far as the lights go the low beam is a bright blueish lite, perfect! but the high beam is a yellowish lite!

Its snowing like crazy rite now so I am not going out but will dig deeper tomorrow. I worked for the shop that I got them from about 10 years ago so everything should be fine.....

I did the DL3 swap pretty easy if you can take the stress. (No pun intended)

Hmm that sounds weird I'll have to look into this

You should be fine with fogs and lows

maybe a little more research and testing out functions before buying above mentioned 'POS' would lead to less headaches-present or future......
