The rear A/C in my 2000 Tahoe LT is blowing HOT. This is obviously a blend door issue whereas regardless of whether I use the front or rear control panel, it does the same thing. Is this the same blend door that controls the front which is located under the glove box? I know there is a mode actuator for the rear located in the right rear quarter trim panel (So says AllData and Chilton). To my knowledge a "mode" actuator controls things such as airflow to the floor, overhead, defrost and all other "modes". Is there a blend door in the rear? Usually the box under the dash will have a divider separating two chambers, one for front and one for rear. Help me out on which part I need to pluck and chuck....It's HOT here! Thanks!!!!

I have not had a chance to mess with my rear A/C (AC only, no heat for rear) but if your hoe is like mine, in the rear of the vehicle on the passenger side behind the trim panels you will find a HVAC box that houses all the stuff for the rear heat and A/C. There will be some lines running from the front to the rear for the heater core and A/C evaporator, but I do believe (I could be wrong) that everything that controls the rear A/C and heat is in that box. The front controls are for the front only and are completely seperate (but I could be wrong). I am not 100% sure and I will say that up front, but based on research I have done personally I believe this to be mostly accurate and suggest you start there to diagnose the problem.
