I know this is an old thread, but I am going to resurrect it. I took my 05 Tahoe in last year because of the same issue, only reverse. I had both controls for the front AC turned all the way down to 60. Cold air was coming out of the driver side, super hot air out of the passenger side. They replaced the actuator on the passenger side, I assume it was with a Dorman. Like MO VietVet said, and I quote... "Do Not... I repeat, Do not use Dorman!" So I'm on my way to Greensboro, NC this evening with the wife and guess what, back to the same old issue. Cold air on the Drivers side, super hot on the passenger side. It has to be the actuator so I am going to get an AC Delco tomorrow from the dealer and install it myself. I know I have seen several How-To vids out on YouTube so I'm going to give it a shot. The only thing I'm concerned with is the price of the actuator...

Thanks davidbeaver1, I’d be anxious to hear how your latest situation works out. I replaced my own, and unfortunately, it was not OEM. And as with you, the one I replaced last summer is starting to malfunction again.

We are till in cooler spring weather here, but I’ll be trying to correct with OEM ASAP before the warmer months. MO VietVet is correct, Dorman and other knock-offs do not hold up.

FYI all - Just checked OEM pricing for these items at dealership in Vancouver, BC. The Blend Door Actuator is $365 $CDN, plus taxes (12%), and the Mode Door Actuator is $183, plus taxes... OUCH!

Update. I called the local dealer, gave them the last 8 of my VIN, told them which actuator and they said they had one... $278.00 which is almost a tank of gas today! Anyway, picked it up and it doesn't work. Here is the picture of the one I removed and a picture of the box the new one came in. The picture of the old Dorman actuator 52402588 or 604-106 seems to cross-reference the GM part no# 8901-8365... so at least it seems to be the correct part. If it doesn't work, what else do I need to be looking for? I would assume a bad fuse, but not sure I know which one, it indeed it is a fuse...

Not sure if you’ve tried this but have you tried ‘recalibrating’ this new Blend Door, once installed? Too much to explain here, but you can watch YouTube video as to ‘how to’. Also, did it work at all for hot or cold airflow, once new B Door was put in? And was the power plug seated properly? I remember the tight quarters made it hard to work on. As far as checking fuses - it it does anything at all with power on, prob not a fuse.

Great question and something I left out of my detail above Rolexus. Once installed, I disconnected the battery for about 30 minutes (had to run to the store while it was disconnected) then reconnected everything, cranked it up, made sure the A/C control was off and drove around for about 10 minutes. Once I turned on the air, same as before... Heat out of the passenger side, cold out of driver side. Also, while I had the actuator off, I did cycle the blend door to make sure it wasn't broken or bound up. It moved very nicely from side to side.
