I know these 2wd trucks are getting harder to find so wanted to get opinions from people more familiar with them than I am.

The truck I'm looking at is a 99 LS 2dr 2wd w/ 215k miles. Overall, the body of the truck is in pretty good shape and the interior is clean too with exception of some stains on the carpet.

The bad is the A/C isn't working and I'm unable to drive it because of a "bad battery". If I were serious about purchasing it, i'd bring a battery out to test drive it. For now, let's just assume the drivetrain is all functional. It also needs tires.

It's all stock and doesn't look to have ever been wrecked.

As it sits, what's a fair ballpark price using the info I've provided?

The condition of the drive train is most important, if its original engine, tranny, rear, i'd peg it around 4000-5000, assuming all other mechanical components are in good condition. If it has either a new engine or new tranny or both i'd say 5000-6500. Hard to give a closer ballpark without seeing it or knowing the true condition.

Due to mileage I'd price it at 3500 if I was buying

I'd say around 4k is fair for a 99. I paid $3500 for my 94 with a bad transmission.Body looks to be in fantastic shape and the fact that it is the last year of the 2 Door Tahoe's kind of makes it worth it. I love the full sized Blazers so that's why I bought a 94 (Last year of the Blazer)

Having a new/rebuild motor or transmission does not make it worth more. That's like trying to say modifications will make it worth more.

I'd say 3000-3500 is a fair price. Maybe closer to 3500 since it is a 2wd. Looks very clean from your pictures. I'd say go for it if the price is right

That is a very nice lookin Hoe, looks like mine :) .

Honestly, I would think long and hard. Especially if everything is original. That means you are going to have quite a bit of time and money to put aside for improvements/upgrades. Things WILL fail, there is no way around it. That is speaking from experience. I have owned mine for roughly 5 years oh, did I mention, it looks like that one :) .

I agree with 07Burb and purple. NO more than $3500.
I also agree about dropping a new/reman motor or tranny. Doesnt mean squat.
If I had the $$$$, I'd ****** that ***** right up.
I say, GO FOR IT :)

Did I mention, that looks just like mine ;)

How does a newly rebuilt engine or transmission not increase the value? It's maintenance done that the next owner won't have to worry about when he's preparing his offer. Let me see, an engine with 200k miles, or one with 20k miles, which will last longer :lol2: In addition, depending on the modifications it should be worth more. If the previous owner had a $3k lift job done, or had a $1200 front bumper installed, you sure as heck can bet that vehicle is going to sell for more than one without.

A rebuilt motor is a not a new motor. If it was a new motor it would add value
