That is true, but in some cases like with these Vortec 350s where you know it's a given the headgaskets and manifold gaskets are going to go out, I'd much rather have a rebuilt Vortec that has been rebuilt using quality aftermarket parts that corrected the original design flaws, and that have been produced using improved designs. Especially if the only original part remaining is the block, with everything else having been swapped out.

Yup, never got stuck once. I work before the plows came out to. A good set of tires, LS rear and a little weight will do you a lot of good.
How does a newly rebuilt engine or transmission not increase the value? It's maintenance done that the next owner won't have to worry about when he's preparing his offer. Let me see, an engine with 200k miles, or one with 20k miles, which will last longerIn addition, depending on the modifications it should be worth more. If the previous owner had a $3k lift job done, or had a $1200 front bumper installed, you sure as heck can bet that vehicle is going to sell for more than one without.
I should rephrase what I wrote. Reman or rebuilt, no. New yes.
Just because a motor has 20k compared to 200k, doesnt mean it is free and clear or failures.

the night before to spend that much on a bumper, hah.Just because you dump tons into it doesnt mean you're going to get it back. These trucks arent worth a lot in the first place. Regardless of what you put into it, people look at the book value. Remember, they want it for as little as possible.
I do agree, a rebuilt motor with quality parts would be ok.
I have a hard time trusting anyone now-a-days. Too many crooks out there. Especially salesman.

It's not going to ad value either way. It might help to sell it, as a selling point. But don't think you can add 1k on-top of blue book just because the motor was "rebuilt" or "replaced". Only way I'd be willing to pay more is if the motor has 50k original miles. Not 50k on a rebuild. Huge difference. And anyways, you need to prove that was done correctly. Which is a risk most people don't want to take. I'll buy a low miles truck before I buy a high miles truck with a "rebuild" on it.
Same goes for the liftkit's or whatever. You will need to find a buyer that WANTS that. And even still, they are not going to want to give you the asking price then. How do they know that lift was installed professionally or correctly? You can't add a 1500 dollar lift and 2k set of wheels/tires and think you can get an extra 3k for your truck.

Key thing is, the person who bought them was looking for a lifted truck, someone looking for something stock should just pass by mine to start with and not try and hassle me down to "stock value" just because they don't value the add-ons. Must just be my marketing skills because I have no problem getting a premium price for premium add-ons.redaddiction

I agree here 100%. Thats the only way to get way more than the actual value of a stock Hoe. Drop an LS in it.
I was looking at a 199 something 1500, was in a small accident and needed repairs. The guy bought it, repaired it dropped an LS into it with a T56 and sold it for $10k out the door.
