Added SWC, DIC stuff works but radio controls do not...

2003 Tahoe that didn't come with SWC.

Installed a new Kenwood DMX809s with PAC rpm5-gm11.

Installed a new steering wheel w SWC buttons & installed the proper clockspring.

The 2 lower SWC buttons work fine, DIC stuff appears to be all good.

Upper buttons for radio controls are not functioning & the PAC rpm5-gm11 isn't getting a signal. The PAC is setup correctly.

A little research shows I may need to get RPO UK3 installed by the dealer to activate the proper part of the BCM. My RPO sticker does not indicate factory UK3.

Can anyone confirm? I think I can just tap into the BCM but that's not my 1st choice to get this working. Dealer activation with Tech 2 preferred.

Call tech. support at Crutchfield. They will tell what would work and what wouldn't.

You may be able to get away with a chime/SWC add-in module and maybe new harness connectors.
Not sure if the head unit would need programming with Tech 2 still or not...

Start with Crutchfield before going off the deep end. They will not oversell or push anything you don't want or need to do what you want to do.
