Alright scratch that above, the schoche, how is the oem 1 as luckie stated? or is it this one? PACOEM-GM24 Anyone using it. Searching, it looks like i dont have to cut anything, and can just unplug it and plug in my factory stuff and be back to normal. For when i sell, or whatever. Is that right? I will just have to run speaker wire from the door speakers to the amp and then plug in the oem 1 and be done... If so, TnTahoe, you got pm. that way i can go back if need be and not worry about cut wires.
The way the PAC OEM-1 works is simple. One end plugs into the factory harness on your truck, the other end plugs into the factory stereo, no wires need to be cut at all. The oem adapter is just a jumper between the factory harness and your stereo. The end that is attached to your stereo also provides 4 channel RCA's (2 sets) and the remote turn on lead that all go to your amp. if your intention is to bypass the factory amp and to replace the factory speakers then you will only need to run a seperate set of wires from your amp to the speakers in your car. If you leave the factory leads in place you can return your truck to factory by simply putting the old speakers back in and connecting the old leads from the factory harness. If you have On-Star I would recommend leaving the front tweeters stock so that you can still maintain the on-star capabilities.
And to answer your other question, the one you will need is in fact the pacoem-gm24. That will work in your Tahoe. That is the same one I have in my 04 Yukon XL. it works great. Have the factory radio playing and charging my I-Pod Touch and pushing my Fosgate 15"s.
Thanks luckie,
I have been reserching it online all nite, and seems like the better way to go, that way i can return it to stock, by just unpluging and pluggin back in. Just will have to run wires to amp as you stated. Much better than cutting. Im keeping the stock tweeters for now, until i get a real set of speakers. Just want to amp the door speakers for now.
Just thought about this also, since you said ipod, i have the isimple ipod adapter also on my tahoe. WIll this oem gm24 mess with that. Meaning will i have to unplug it to add the oem gm24.
thanks
